The Museu Nacional de Arte Contemporânea (MNAC) is a reference institution of museum and research excellence with which NOVA University Lisbon has been collaborating since 2022. This partnership resulted in the publication of the collective “Portugal entre Patrimónios”, the presentation of the exhibition “O Artista do Momento: O Homem do Paleolítico” (The Artist of the Moment: The Paleolithic Man) by cartoonist Luís Afonso and the presentation of the exhibition “Sopro da Cinza” (Breath of Gray) by António Faria, which was on show at the NOVA University Rectory.
The BASES | vertical galleries project was also developed jointly, consisting of the reuse of supports to create and exhibit works of art. On the occasion of the Colloquium/Exhibition/Reading commemorating the 130th anniversary of Almada Negreiros, as part of the celebrations for the 50th anniversary of the Universidade Nova de Lisboa, a reproduction of Almada Negreiros’ “Geometric study on the work Ecce Homo” was made and is on display in a public space on the Campolide Campus.
