anTUNiA – Tuna de Ci\u00eancias e Tecnologia da Universidade Nova de Lisboa – was founded on November 23rd, 1993. Over the course of its three decades of history, it has become known for a strong musical tradition in the world of tunas, focusing on changing its musical style by embarking on innovative paths, which contributed to its rapid rise in popularity. Since then,
\nanTUNiA has been invited to various tunas festivals, winning multiple awards that are recognition of its evolution over time.
\nDuring these three decades, anTUNiA has made a name for itself, not only as a tuna but also as a musical group, both nationally, with more than 250 awards accumulated over time,
\nrepresenting the recognition and excellence achieved in Tuna competitions and festivals in Portugal, as well as internationally.
\nIn 1996, it recorded its first CD, containing original songs and classical instrumental themes, followed by a tour of the cities of Rio de Janeiro, Bel\u00e9m do Par\u00e1, Bras\u00edlia, and Curitiba in
\nBrazil, as well as Lima, Peru, in 1999. In 2000, a new CD was released containing recordings from the V and VI T\u00e1gides \u2013 Festival Internacional de Tunas Universit\u00e1rias in the City of
\nAlmada. With its growth in 2002, anTUNiA became a non-profit association, allowing it to take on new challenges and better adapt to the new world of tunas. In 2014, it went on its first
\nEuropean tour\u2014anTUNiA onTOUR\u2014performing in Bordeaux, Paris, Leuven, Brussels, Amsterdam, Geneva, and Toulouse. In the summers of 2016 to 2018, anTUNiA headed south of
\nPortugal on tour, passing through Lagoa, Carvoeiro, Portim\u00e3o, Albufeira, Loul\u00e9, Quarteira, and Vilamoura. Twenty years after recording their first CD and as a way of celebrating their 23rd
\nanniversary, anTUNiA released \u201cSobre O Tejo,\u201d a new album connected to the sea and what lies beyond it, featuring songs such as \u201cSenhora do Mar,\u201d \u201cMeus Lindos Olhos,\u201d and \u201cSancho
\nPan\u00e7a,\u201d which have become some anTUNiA’s best known songs.
\nIn 2018, anTUNiA celebrated its 25th anniversary with various initiatives throughout the Municipality of Almada, culminating in a grand show at the Coliseu dos Recreios.
\nIn the latter half of 2023, a season of celebrations was witnessed, with anTUNiA celebrating its 30th anniversary and promoting seven projects in this context, five of which were
\nevents organized in collaboration with the Municipality of Almada and FCT\/NOVA, and the remaining projects being cultural, musical, and digital entertainment projects. In addition, a 30th
\nAnniversary Commemorative Vinyl was released, this being the first time that anTUNiA has presented itself in this format.
\nIn addition to these events, the 30th edition of T\u00e1gides – Festival Internacional de Tunas Universit\u00e1rias was held: a commemorative edition featuring two nights of festival at Academia
\nAlmadense and twice as many tunas in competition.
\nThe 31st edition of T\u00e1gides took place on March 14th and 15th, 2025, with an evening of serenades on the 14th and a festival night at Academia Almadense on the 15th, both of which were a success<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
