NOVA University Lisbon (NOVA) recognizes gender equality and non-discrimination as central principles in building a more just, equitable, and human rights-promoting society. Aware of the challenges still facing the implementation of these principles in various spheres of society,
including academia, and emphasizing the importance of fostering an inclusive and respectful teaching and work environment where everyone feels valued and represented, NOVA intends to reaffirm its commitment to promoting gender equality and non-discrimination through the
language used in institutional communications. The Equality and Inclusion Office (GII) produced a guide for the use of inclusive language and identified projects and resources across the University.
A Thick Cloud of Love
For nearly a month and a half, from September 22 to November 10, 2025, the Rectorate of NOVA University Lisbon presents the project "A Thick Cloud of Love. Some Queer Theses, Antitheses, and Syntheses at NOVA University Lisbon," which seeks to showcase some possibilities for queer reflection, creation, projection, and performativity in the artistic/academic sphere.
